    Patrol   The Signal Hill Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens' Police Academy.  The academy is taught by police officers and staff members and gives you an inside look at law enforcement in your community. 

Those who attend will learn about patrol operations, criminal law, narcotics enforcement, investigative techniques, crime prevention, emergency dispatch procedures, the court system, and many other areas of law enforcement.

Classes are held biannually, with the next class scheduled for the first quarter of 2012.  The classes will be scheduled one night a week, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the police station.  Participation is available to anyone over the age of 21.  Additional qualifications include no pending criminal cases or felony convictions.

Applications are available at the Signal Hill Police Department, 1800 E. Hill St., Signal Hill, CA 90755.
